You will hear us say often we are an Acts 2:42 church. 

"All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals, and to prayer." (Acts 2:42)

This means we are committed to the same things that characterized the early church.

​

TRUTH. The book of Acts shows us that the first century Christians were committed to the Truth of God. They were devoted to the teaching of the apostles. We also are passionate about the Bible. It teaches us Truth about God, our need for Him, and how we can live like Jesus. You will hear us say often, we are a "not yet" people. But as we study the Bible and find His Truth, it transforms us. As we experience His Grace and Love, growing deep roots in His Truth, it changes us in every way.

LOVE. Also in the book of Acts, we see a deep, practical Love for one another. We see their Love on display, as they had everything in common and actively sought to meet one another's needs. Like the early church, we want to follow the command of Jesus, when He said "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." That's part of the DNA at Grace Bible. We believe that Truth without Love is legalism, and Love without Truth is compromise. At Grace, we desire to balance our pursuit of Truth with an application of Love.​

 

COMMUNITY.  In the book of Acts, we see an example of Christian community as it should be. The many "one another" passages in the writings of Paul are on display in the early church in Acts. They shared meals together. Prayed together. Like them, we at Grace Bible want to pursue God's Truth and live out God's Love in community with God's people. The word church literally means "the called out ones" or "the house of the Lord." We believe that the house of the Lord is NOT a building, but a people. Our desire is to be a people living life together in community as God intended.​
